This is where it's at. James and Jennifer Evans are here to talk to us about elevating BIPOC voices in animal welfare and bringing in people from all walks of life. By challenging assumptions and suspending judgments, we can better stay true to honest narratives instead of getting caught up in the stories we tell ourselves about other people. Because to help animals, we need to participate in communities. Because to help animals, we need to be inclusive and that means reckoning with our privilege. Because to help animals, we need different answers, we need to get rid of barriers to adoption, we need to incentivize pet fostering – and it starts by making space for everybody. CARE is doing some big work led by these ambitious dreamers and hearing them unpack the number of animals in shelters as a social and racial gap in this country is a discussion I am most grateful for. Listen to this episode, spend more time outside, and join the CARE movement.

A touching and funny podcast that explores how extraordinary people have been changed by an extraordinary animal. In this weekly show, Katya talks to fascinating guests about what their lives were like before and after they experienced a soul-level relationship with an animal.

The Animal That Changed You 8 February 2023
